This Mothers day was very difficult for me. It was my daughter's "First Mothers Day" and I have custody of her daughter. It was heartbreaking for me not to wish my daughter "Happy Mothers Day" and I of course didn't receive that well wish from her (actually, not from anyone). I was glad when the day was over. I know in a couple of years Kayla will be able to wish me "Happy Mothers Day" so I'll look forward to that.

I was so fortunate to have all three of my kids and all seven of my grandkids with me for Mother's Day. But still I know what you mean about mixed feelings. I think in my case it's partly just hard to be the object of the celebration instead of the one behind the scenes.

Thanks Shannon. I actually walked around my little town like a tourist and bought a birthday present for one of my kids. I then spent several hours on the phone speaking with each of my children as they called me. My Mother's Day ended nicely.

Great blog post. Hope you had a good day, no matter what you did!
