I love hearing from my readers and learning their stories. With their permission, I share their stories with you.
Melanie is a 60 year old grandmother raising 4 grandchildren. These are her daughter's children. Her daughter suffered a brain injury leaving her emotionlly unable to raise her own children. Melanie's story is rather complex and touching.
There are two different father's, one who was killed and one who is not very involved. The oldest child has Asperger's syndrome. With very little help from extended family, Melanie raises these four children with great difficulty, yet states, "I love them to pieces and wouldn't trade the experience for anything." For Melanie's full story click here. The link will take you to my grandparent's website, which has many stories from grandparents.
