I received a comment from a grandmother raising 3 grandchildren through my grandparent questionnaire., connected to my main grandparent website. Her family does not live in the U.S. I believe they live in Australia. But like many of us here in the U.S. they are faced with court battles over raising grandchildren with the well-being of their grandchildren being the top priority. I want to emphasize the following point from the grandmother's comment:
"My Husband and I believe that we need to nurture, and love each other just as much as our Grandchildren, in order for all involved to live a good healthy life."
This is so important for those who are married. Many grandparents feel the strain on their marriages when facing the stress of raising the grandchildren, especially when they are facing challenges with the children's parents as well. It was nice to hear someone make the point about nurturing the marriage relationship as well as the children.
A grandmother in love with her grandchildren (who once upon a time raised 3 of them them for 6 years and 8 months).
