I was watching an interesting program the other night on the Science channel. It was explaining how time is not absolute. People's brains perceive time differently. They actually explained something about how ultimately there really is no such thing as time. I admit, it went beyond my understanding, but it was interesting. Tonight, I got a good chuckle at my 6-year-old granddaughter's concept of time. She said at dinner very seriously, "I know what 5 minutes is." I looked at her a bit puzzled and asked her what it was. She answered, "It is when the little hand is on the 5 and the big hand is somewhere else." I paused and then instantly laughed and said, "Well, not exactly." Could she get any cuter than that? I began to explain about 5 minutes, but her mind was already on her next thought. The next time I start worrying or fretting about the time, I must remember what 5 minutes means, then take a deep breath and smile.
